As the historical cycle of oppressive narratives continue to repeat, visibility is such a double-edged sword. You never know who you’ll encounter in your day and with the 64% rise in hate crimes against members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in so-called Canada, it’s a scary time to be visible.

There is so much power in celebrating ourselves and showing up for our community. We deserve to be seen as we are. We deserve to continue growing and unlearning our own internalized “ism’s” that we’ve been taught. We need to continue demanding better for ourselves and those around us. We need to continue creating a better world for our younger 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
